The Counter: Where your wildest burger dreams come true

So this was my second visit to burger heaven and this is what inspired me to start this blog (that and the fact that my boyfriend and I never know where to go eat after 9pm). If you have never heard about The Counter here's the low-down. After you have walked in and have been shown to your table, you are handed what I'd like to call the magical clip-board (that contains the menu and a sheet with the most tantalizing ingredients). I must admit, all the ingredients are a bit intimidating at first because you pretty much want to pick everything. I opted for 1/3 beef patty (options are between a 1/3, 2/3, or... a 1lb), horseradish cheddar, organic greens, roasted peppers, sauteed mushrooms, and with guacamole on a regular bun (picture above). To some it might not sound exciting but at the time, it hit the spot. My boyfriend got more creative as he opted for the grilled chicken, sauteed mushrooms, organic greens, grilled pineapple, and black olives on a regular bun with horseradish mayo on the side (picture on the right). Now the only thing that can top off such amazing burgers are amazing fries...sweet potato fries! I know...sweet potato fries? What? Yeah they are amazing. You can try their regular fries but even the Lawry's-like seasoning that I love so much didn't distract me from the small & skinny fries that I must say didn't satisfy my french-fries hunger. You decided though. All I can say is that if you have never had sweet potato fries, this is a great place to give them a shot! The prices are also not too bad when you consider what you're getting. The prices range from $6.95-$12.00 for a burger (it all really depends on how creative you get). So if you're on a tight budget you might want to consider coming here a splurge if you end up spending $12 for a burger but at that point...it would be all well worth it!
Between the cool art work (that varies from black and white rock & roll art to skateboards), the great music, and great service, The Counter is definitely a great "build-your-own" burger joint.

LOCATIONS: There is more than in location in California so there is no way that you won't have the chance to go at least ONCE! I would go to their website for more details, however, here are the some of the locations
California: El Segundo, Los Angeles (Sunset Blvd), Marina Del Rey, Pasadena, Santa Monica, and Studio City JUST to name a few!
Good eating!

TIMES: Most of the locations close at 10 pm but you'll find that on Fridays and Saturdays most of them usually close at 11pm.
